The AKA Starter bridle is deliberately designed in a simplified form so that young horses can become familiar with the bit while having ample room for movement in the mouth. The horse’s mouth may open and the tongue can move over or under the bit. A chin strap prevents the bit from slipping when working on the double longe, making this bridle ideal for early training.

Description

The AKA powered by Stübben Starter Bridle is deliberately kept simple to allow youngsters to play wit the bit in their mouth while learning about the functionality of riding signals. At firth the mouth can be opened and the tongue can be taken over and under the bit. This prevents later on an undesirable behavior, such as tongues hanging out or over the bit, by providing positive learning experiences for the horse. The chinstrap keeps the bit in place during double line lunging as when gaining skills under the saddle when ridden. This bridle is also suitable for daily double line lunging of sporthorses.Once the horse has accepted and understood the bridle and bit, the English halter can be added for daily work on the double lunge or under the rider.

Size Guide

Available in sizes for CS and FS, with an elegant tobacco coloring. Choose the bridle so that the headpiece sits comfortably behind the ears and the cheek pieces align toward the bit while allowing free tongue movement and no undue pressure on the mouth.

Usage

This bridle offers maximum freedom of movement in the mouth region, which helps avoid undesirable behaviors such as the tongue hanging out or being placed over the bit when the full bridle is later used. The chin strap secures the bit specially during long‐line training or initial longe work. Use this bridle for young horses during the first phase of training, particularly when introducing the bit and teaching basic rein aids. Also suitable for daily work on the double longe before mounting. The design supports positive learning experiences and helps prevent mouth‐related issues later in training.

Care

After each use, wipe down all leather parts to remove sweat and residue. Treat the bridle with recommended leather care products to maintain suppleness. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight or heat to preserve leather quality and metal fittings. Regular inspection of the Slide&Lock buckle and all stitching is advised to ensure long-term performance.
