The Bridle Sligo Slide&Lock is crafted to meet the anatomical needs of horses. It features a unique headpiece, a variety of noseband options and the exclusive Slide&Lock fastening system. The headpiece is specially cut-back to reduce pressure on the horse’s ears and neck, and is softly padded while avoiding the sensitive area of the cervical spine.
Thought-out design
The Sligo bridle has a unique headpiece - it has been carefully designed to reduce pressure on the horse's ears and neck. The cut-back shape of the headpiece provides sufficient clearance for the ears of differently built horses. Very soft foam padding distributes pressure evenly, while the sensitive area of the cervical spine has been left out in order to relieve it.
Slide&Lock Fastenings
The exclusive Slide&Lock fastenings on the cheekpieces allow particularly quick and easy bit changes. Simply push the metal sleeve upward with light pressure to release the leather loop. After changing the bit, slide the sleeve back down until it securely locks in place with a click.

Technical Details

The bridle should sit comfortably behind the ears and not restrict the horse’s movement. Ensure that the bridle is neither too loose nor too tight. The noseband should sit approximately two fingers’ width below the cheekbone, allowing enough space for comfort and unrestricted breathing. The bit and cheekpieces should be adjusted so that a few small wrinkles appear at the corners of the horse’s mouth, indicating that the bit sits correctly without causing pressure or discomfort.
Reins and bit are not included.
After each use, wipe down all leather parts that are exposed to sweat and residue. Clean the bridle regularly with Stübben leather care products to maintain the quality of the leather. Store the bridle in a dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve both leather and metal fittings. Regular inspection of all buckles and stitching is recommended.
Our bridles are delivered in individual parts and need to be assembled before first use.
