The Clare Double Bridle with Slide&Lock combines classic elegance with innovative functionality. Thanks to the removable curb strap, it can be used both as a double bridle and as a regular bridle, offering maximum flexibility in daily training. The anatomically shaped headpiece ensures high wearing comfort, while the classic leather browband gives the bridle a timeless look.
Highlights
Anatomical Design & Comfort
The cut-back, anatomically shaped headpiece was developed to relieve the sensitive poll area of the horse. The soft padding ensures comfortable pressure distribution and increases overall comfort. In the area above the spine, the padding is thinner to provide more space and reduce pressure.
The softly padded, curved noseband protects the sensitive nose area and ensures a particularly comfortable fit.
Flexible Use: Double Bridle or Snaffle Bridle
A special feature of the Clare is its versatility. The curb strap can easily be removed, allowing the bridle to be used as a snaffle bridle.
This makes it particularly useful for young horses transitioning to a double bridle. The horse can first be ridden on the snaffle and later on the double bridle without removing the familiar bridle.
Slide&Lock Fastenings
The exclusive Slide&Lock fastenings on the cheekpieces allow for especially quick and easy bit changes.
Simply slide the metal sleeve upward to release the leather loop. After changing the bit, slide the sleeve back down until it securely locks into place with a “click”.
Noseband
English combined noseband, softly padded and curved.
Equipped with a completely removable flash strap (RFS – Removable Flash System) as well as a double-sided fastening system for particularly precise adjustment.
Technical Details

The bridle should sit comfortably behind the ears and not restrict the horse’s movement. Ensure that the bridle is neither too loose nor too tight. The noseband should sit approximately two fingers’ width below the cheekbone, allowing enough space for comfort and unrestricted breathing. The bit and cheekpieces should be adjusted so that a few small wrinkles appear at the corners of the horse’s mouth, indicating that the bit sits correctly without causing pressure or discomfort.
Reins and bit are not included.
After each use, wipe down all leather parts that are exposed to sweat and residue. Clean the bridle regularly with Stübben leather care products to maintain the quality of the leather. Store the bridle in a dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve both leather and metal fittings. Regular inspection of all buckles and stitching is recommended.
Our bridles are delivered in individual parts and need to be assembled before first use.
