Stübben x EQUI Compress – The Revolutionary Compression System for Horses

Developed over five years of research and innovation, the Stübben x EQUI Compress system is a patented, German-made therapeutic solution designed to stimulate circulation, support the lymphatic system, and enhance regeneration in horses. It is the first scientifically proven compression stocking for equine use — a true game changer in performance and recovery management.

Unlike humans, horses lack a strong muscular pump in the lower limbs. As a result, lymphatic flow and metabolic waste removal are often slower, especially when horses spend extended time in stables. The EQUI Compress system counteracts this by applying precisely targeted compression from the coronet band upward, effectively activating the lymphatic and vascular systems.

This innovative technology helps to

  • Stimulate blood and lymph flow, accelerating metabolism and recovery
  • Reduce swelling and prevent fluid buildup (galls)
  • Relieve strain on tendons and ligaments through optimal pressure distribution
  • Support healing of fascia, skin, and tissue thanks to antibacterial silver ions
  • Provide a cooling and decongesting effect with CoolBreathe material
  • Stay securely in place thanks to its anti-slip design, even at rest

Ideal for use

  • During rest periods, transport, or light work
  • After training or competition to support recovery
  • Between training sessions for faster regeneration
  • For horses prone to swelling, tendon issues, or skin irritations such as mallenders

Not suitable for use on open wounds, infections, or severe inflammation.

Scope of delivery - Two compression stockings and two compression gaiters for the hind legs, plus a wash and storage bag.

Material

Boot - 67 % polyamide, 30 % elastodiene, 3 % elastane
Sock - 89 % polyamide, 11 % elastane.

Care

Machine washable at a maximum of 30 °C in the laundry bag provided. Not suitable for tumble drying. The Velcro fasteners on the boots must be closed tightly before washing to prevent damage to the fabric.

Usage

1. Prepare the stocking: Turn the upper part of the stocking inside out halfway, so that the lower end can easily be placed over the hoof later. The Silicone Surface should sit on the inside on the lower end of the stocking, it is placed on the hoof later.

2. Use the dressing aid: Place the dressing aid on the hoof and slide the hoof into the stocking. Pull the stocking upward until the dressing aid can be removed. The stocking should then sit in the fetlock area.

3. Position the stocking: Place the hoof on the ground and pull the stocking high up over the leg, then pulling it back down gently stroking the hair in the natural direction of growth. Make sure the stocking sits smoothly in the pastern area without folds. Place the Silicone Surface on the hoof.

4. Apply the compression boot: Place the boot over the stocking and tightly fasten the middle Velcro strap first. Then lay the zipper flap flat and zip down to the middle strap.

5. Secure all closures: Fasten the top and bottom Velcro straps, open the middle one again, zip the boot completely, and finally close the middle strap securely.

6. Finish: Turn the upper part of the stocking over the top edge of the boot to complete the fit.

💡 Tip: Applying compression may feel tight and firm at first – this is normal and necessary for the therapeutic effect. When using the system for the first time, it can be helpful to have someone assist you until you are familiar with the process.
