Equi-Soft® Saddle Girth

The girth length is measured from buckle end to buckle end. When tightened, the buckles of the Equi-Soft® girth should be positioned as high as possible along the ribcage.

Tighten the Equi-Soft Girth so it sits securely but still allows the horse to breathe freely. The elastic rings should be slightly stretched, with room to expand.

Avoid overtightening – this would cancel out the girth’s special function. The center of the girth should align with the horse’s midline.

1. Use with Matching Pad - Always use the girth with the Equi-Soft® Pad, properly aligned and secured to the Velcro.
2. Position Correctly - Place the saddle and pad as usual, then center the girth along the horse’s girth line.
3. Allow Natural Breathing - Tighten evenly on both sides — avoid overtightening to let the elastic rings move with your horse’s breathing.
4. Check During Riding - Ensure the girth stays stable and comfortable; adjust only if needed.

1. Remove Loose Dirt - Use a soft brush to gently remove any dust or dried dirt.
2. Clean Leather Parts - Wipe the leather with a damp cloth and mild saddle soap, carefully lifting the elastic rings to clean underneath.
3. Condition the Leather - Apply a suitable leather care product to keep the material soft and durable.
4. Clean the Buckles - Wipe the buckles with a damp cloth, then dry thoroughly to prevent rust or residue.

Do not wash the leather in a washing machine.
