Unlike traditional Icelandic bridles, the cheek pieces and noseband attach directly to the headpiece. This makes it easy to adjust the straps on both sides and eliminates pressure points caused by buckles in the poll area. At the same time, the browband can be easily swapped out, allowing a personalized look. Stainless steel hook studs ensure quick and easy bit changes.
The Icelandic bridle is available in either black with silver fittings or ebony with brass fittings. The stitching matches the leather color. Depending on your preference, you can choose between an English combined noseband and a Hanoverian noseband.
The bridle should sit comfortably behind the ears and not restrict the horse’s movement. Ensure that the bridle is neither too loose nor too tight. The noseband should sit approximately two fingers’ width below the cheekbone, allowing enough space for comfort and unrestricted breathing. The bit and cheekpieces should be adjusted so that a few small wrinkles appear at the corners of the horse’s mouth, indicating that the bit sits correctly without causing pressure or discomfort.
Reins and bit are not included.
After each use, wipe down all leather parts that are exposed to sweat and residue. Clean the bridle regularly with Stübben leather care products to maintain the quality of the leather. Store the bridle in a dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve both leather and metal fittings. Regular inspection of all buckles and stitching is recommended.
