Icelandic Saddle BH Classic

The Benni's Harmony Classic is designed on the classic Icelandic saddle, combining those traditional characteristics with innovative seating comfort and almost limitless adjustability for both horse and rider. As a result, this double-flap saddle with a hidden knee roll stands as our classic model when it comes to ergonomics.

The semi-deep seat enables the rider to tilt their pelvic, which is required for the tölt, while still providing the rider with sufficient stability to develop a balanced seat. Therefore the Classic is especially suitable for riders, who tend to block in their hip area.The carefully padded small saddle flap ensures a seamless transition to the main saddle flap, contributing a high level of seating comfort. The extra-soft knee area contours precisely around the rider's leg and the various knee roll options.

The knee rolls are available in a range of sizes and since they are positioned beneath the saddle flap, we are able to manufacture the Classic with Velcro-attached rolls. This allows you to adjust the position—or even switch between different roll sizes—in seconds, making the Classic an especially attractive choice for horses ridden by multiple people. The Classic strikes the perfect balance between freedom of movement and stability for everyone, all without compromising on soft, comfortable seating.

The wide bearing surface and the characteristically wide chamber channel ensure the horse’s comfort is prioritized as well. The panel offers sufficient volume, allowing easy re-stuffing or adjustment at any time.

The Classic is part of the Benni’s Harmony collection and was developed in collaboration with Icelandic horse expert Benni Líndal. He is an A-level riding instructor and has a Master’s degree in taming horses from the Icelandic Riding Instructors’ Association (FT). For several years he worked as a riding instructor at both Hvanneyri Agricultural University of Iceland and Hólar University College. He has successfully participated in many of the biggest tournaments for Icelandic horses, both in Iceland and elsewhere, such as Landsmót, European Championships and World Championships.

Visually, the Classic impresses with its understated elegance and compact design. The focus here is clearly on functionality.

Like all Stübben saddles, the Classic is handcrafted at our workshop in Kempen (Lower Rhine), Germany, using only carefully selected, high-quality materials and raw components.

The organically shaped knee area and the elaborately binded panels place high demands on craftsmanship, requiring maximum precision and a trained eye.
