The 2287 Liverpool Driving Bit is a curb bit designed for driving disciplines, featuring multiple fitting options on the shanks that allow tailored pressure distribution on the poll, bars and tongue. Its mouthpiece is anatomically shaped, offering more freedom for the tongue while directing more pressure onto the bars.

Size Guide

If you already have a bit that fits your horse well, you can use it as a reference for choosing the correct size. If not, measure your horse’s mouth width by placing a bit sizer or a soft cord/string in the mouth at the position where the bit will sit, mark the ends, then measure the distance. The bit width should be such that the rings rest just outside (or very slightly beyond) the lip corners—if the bit is too narrow, it will pinch; too wide, it will shift side to side. For loose ring bits, allow a little “play” (1cm on one side) so the rings can rotate freely without pinching the lips.

Width: 12.5 cm - Thickness: 14 mm - Offset: 7 cm
Width: 13.5 / 14.5 / 15.5 cm - Thickness: 16 mm - Offset: 9 cm

Composition

Mouthpiece: sweet copper - 90% copper, 7% zinc, 4% iron and aluminum hardened; Ring: stainless steel

Care Instructions

After each ride, rinse or wipe the bit to remove saliva residues. Once cleaned, dry the bit with a towel.

Guidance

Any bit can cause pain if used roughly or improperly. The wrong size can also be painful for the horse.
